The main event of Rakhsha Bandhan was officially held in Pakistan at Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal. However, Rakhsha Bandhan was also celebrated in other major temples present in the country including Lahore. A large number of Hindu community members as well as Muslims, Sikhs and Christians also participated in the event of Rakhsha Bandhan held in Khrishna temple in Lahore. In the ceremony, the Hindu women wrap a symbolic bracelet known as “Rakhi” on the wrist of their brother and prayed for the long life of their brothers while the Hindu brother gave the gifts to their sisters and promised to protect them.
