Bollywood's 'global icon' and UN Goodwill ambassador Priyanka Chorpa irked many with her recent statement at the BeautyCon when a Pakistani woman called the actor a hypocrite for supporting war.

Chopra in February lauded the Indian armed forces for an attack on Pakistan. Ayesha Malik slammed actor's stance on the matter, to which the former Miss World responded, "Whenever you’re done ranting? Got it? Okay, cool.”

The actor went on patrionising Malik, instead of giving a balanced response as UNICEF Ambassador.

“I have many friends from Pakistan and I am from India, war is not something I am fond of but I am so patriotic, I’m sorry if I hurt the sentiments of people who do love me and have loved me," she added.

Many shared actor's problematic stance on the matter, including Pakistani celebs.

Actors took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Chopra's recent statement.

Gohar Rasheed

"Seriously, Priyanka Chopra is that the best you can come up with? Does patriotism mean that if Indian PM provokes a war sentiment you will encourage it by saying Jai Hind? So what’s happening in Kashmir is fine with you because you are patriotic?" penned Rangreza actor.

"This is not what you call walking on a middle ground it’s a choice it’s a mindset. Today I am so proud that I belong to a country where people and their artists don’t choose diplomatic middle grounds over humanity," added Rasheed.

Kubra Khan

"Middle Ground when thousands of innocent people ( including children ) are being butchered daily?! Yeah. No. Sorry, No middle grounds here Miss Goodwill ambassador," wrote Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 actor. "Being Patriotic is one thing but We’re humans first. Lets not forget that."

Mansha Pasha

The Laal Kabootar actor said, "There are so many people who SAY they are for empowerment, feminism, equality and for women to work together. I've seen countless examples of that in my work but they do not practice what they preach at all when brought face to face with choices that will exhibit that."

"In fact, they can be extremely manipulative & dismissive of others. They chose a brand of feminism that favours them, using it to garner praise rather than as a way to live life. Priyanka Chopra showed how much of a feminist she really is when she ridiculed Ayesha Malik," added Pasha.

Veena Malik

"An Indian Actor, whose biiggest claim to fame is getting married to a "Gora Larka", gets the the mic snatched from a girl before she is done with her legitimate question and then gaslights her with saying 'Don't yell, girl and embarrass yourself'. One word: Trash," the actor wrote.
