PML-N to defend 18th amendment
LAHORE:
Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Quaid, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that his party will defend the 18th amendment in the Supreme Court, but not the NRO.
He expressed these views in a meeting with the anchorpersons of private TV channels on Thursday. He said that his party would support the system of Judicial Commission (JC) for the appointment of judges in the superior courts.
The PML-N Quaid said that the Judicial Commission has been formed according to Charter of Democracy (CoD), and that a single person should not have the authority to appoint the judges therefore the judicial commission system is suitable for this purpose.
He said that the whole system of the country is at stake due to ineligibility of the government and that the government worries would not go away until Rehman Malik and Babar Awan remain in the federal cabinet.
He remarked that he had advised the Prime Minister to get rid of Malik and Awan, and regretted the presidential pardon awarded to Malik.
