Fireworks: Crackdown against sale and storage

The district administration has launched a crackdown against the manufacturing, sale and storage of fireworks in the district and several raiding teams have been constituted. DCO Naseem Sadiq has directed raiding teams to check the sale, manufacturing and storage of fireworks and take stern legal action against all defaulters. Sadiq stressed that authorities destroy all reserves of fireworks being stored in godowns in and around the city. He also urged that the sale of firework in streets shops and Gole Karyana Market be discouraged to avert any untoward incidents. The DCO has asked citizens to extend their cooperation to the district administration and identify factories, shops and godowns housing fire works so that action can be taken against the violators.
