KARACHI:
After the federal government's announcement to initiate a campaign against the use of plastic bags, the Sindh government has also jumped into the fray and announced on Thursday to ban plastic bags in the province from October 1 this year.

"The use of plastic bags is disastrous for the environment. We request citizens to support the campaign and help the Sindh government save the environment," said Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a video message shared on social media. He added that a law against plastic bags was already present in the province, which would be implemented in letter and spirit.
