Joint operation against drug menace

IGP directed concerned officers to ensure strict surveillance in educational institutes & hostels

LAHORE: Inspector General Police Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan has said the Punjab police and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) will conduct joint operations against drug peddlers to save youth from the menace. He expressed these views during a meeting with a two-member delegation of Anti-Narcotics Force including Regional Director Brigadier Khalid and Colonel Shafiq. The IGP directed the officers concerned to ensure strict surveillance in the vicinity of educational institutes and hostels during intelligence-based operations so that the supplier of the drugs to youth could be brought to justice. He said with the help of ANF special training sessions for drug identification would be arranged for the officials of the Punjab Police. During meeting operation against drug sellers in the province and other matters were discussed.
