The joint session of parliament convened in the wake of India’s illegal annexation of Occupied Kashmir turned into fish market Wednesday when PML-N Senator Mushahidullah Khan and Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry engaged in verbal slugfest.

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, who was presiding over the session alongside National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, expunged the unparliamentary language used by the two lawmakers.

The house was convened on Tuesday to cobble together a joint course of action for Pakistan following India’s August 5 decision to rob Occupied Kashmir of its special status.

Senator Mushahidullah and Minister Fawad resorted to name-calling after the latter interrupted the PML-N lawmaker’s speech during the session aired live on national television.

The minister got infuriated after being referred to as ‘Dabbu’ and hurled a volley of abuses at the PML-N leader. “Can someone switch him off… he’ll take some time in learning how to respect others,” said Mushahidullah.

Incensed as he was Fawad lunged at Mushahidullah, but his fellow lawmakers from the treasury benches intervened to stop them from getting physical with each other.

Throughout the nasty verbal duel between the two lawmakers, the Senate chairman kept requesting them to calm down, but to no affect.
