I’ll never work with someone accused of sexual harassment: Deepika Padukone
The star apparently responded to the claims after #NotMyDeepika hashtag took Twitter by storm
Last week, the #NotMyDeepika hashtag took Twitter by storm. The news of Bollywood starlet Deepika Padukone’s apparent inclusion in a film being helmed by a director accused of sexual harassment made the rounds on social media.
Earlier reports stated that the Piku star has been roped in for film-maker Luv Ranjan’s upcoming project. Now, Deepika has denied having any such involvement in the said venture, let alone starring opposite her ex-boyfriend and actor Ranbir Kapoor.

Ranjan had been accused of sexual harassment by an anonymous woman last year. However, he rejected all the allegations that were levelled against him. Deepika was seen visiting his house alongside Ranbir, who has apparently already been cast in the film.

Speaking to Vogue India about the same, Deepika gave a resounding ‘No’ when asked if she would be willing to work with a person who has been accused of sexual misconduct. “No! I would not,” she said.

Nonetheless, social media users did not back down. “Girl, you better not be signing that movie,” one fan wrote on Twitter after pictures of her meeting with Ranjan were shared online. “The fact that she met him and found it in herself to even sit and talk to him is disappointing enough for me. But, her doing this film will prove that she’s nothing less than a hypocrite,” wrote another.

She has completed the filming of her upcoming project Chhapaak, directed by Meghna Gulzar. The actor essays an acid attack survivor in the film, which also stars Vikrant Massey.
She will also appear opposite husband Ranveer Singh in the sports drama ‘83, based on the Indian cricket team’s surprise victory in the 1983 World Cup.
