PES to deploy 9,907 rescuers 

Emergency services being set up in 36 districts of the province

LAHORE: The Punjab Emergency Service ambulance, rescue and fire services shall remain on high alert during Eidul Azha in all 36 districts of the province to provide emergency services in case of any incident. In this regard, Punjab Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer reviewed emergency arrangements during a meeting held at Emergency Services Headquarters on Friday. The meeting was attended by the heads of all wings. The head of operations briefed the director-general that emergency plans for Eidul Azha have been finalised in all districts after consulting with the deputy commissioners. The DG was told that 9,907 rescuers will be deployed at strategic sites during Eidul Azha holidays to ensure prompt response to emergencies. Further, 12,000 rescuers shall be on duty in three shifts during the holidays at 550 key points across the province along with 1,057 emergency vehicles and 700 motorbike ambulances. The DG directed that community emergency response teams should engage with rescue teams at all districts to make emergency management plans more effective. He also ordered that close coordination must be maintained with district and tehsil headquarter hospitals to manage victims of emergencies better.
