Two fire incidents reported in different areas of Rawalpindi
Rescue teams report within three minutes and extinguish the blaze
RAWALPINDI:
Rawalpindi. Two incidents of fires were reported from different areas of the garrison city on Sunday. However, quick response by Rescue 1122 helped prevent a major loss.
According to a Rescue 1122 official, in the first incident, a fire erupted in a medical store near Chandni Chowk owing to a suspected short circuit.
The rescue teams responded within three minutes and extinguished the blaze.
In another incident, an oil tanker caught fire on Rawal Road due to a leak in its fuselage when it was refilling its tanks.
Rescue 1122 claimed to respond to the incident in just four minutes.
Timely action, officials claimed, helped save estimated damage of Rs50 million.
The damage remained limited to only Rs0.6 million. Officials informed that the tanker was carrying 2,000 litres of diesel.
