ISLAMABAD:
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed rehabilitation work on the main double road of Sector I-14.

The main road of Sector I-14 is not only used by residents of the Sector I-14, but it is also used by many to access Sector I-16 after passing through Sector I-15.

Under this project, Triple Surface Treatment (TST) of the 16-kilometre-long  double road, running eight kilometres on either side, was carried out.

Further, the civic authority has also repaired damaged drainage systems in the area apart from repairing and maintaining the protection walls and other road fixtures.

The project has been completed at a total cost of Rs50 million.

The project was undertaken as per the authority’s policy of focusing on the neglected sectors.

In this regard, a CDA team comprising Member Engineering and relevant directors led by the CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed visited Sector I-14, I-15 and I-16 a few months ago.

During that visit, the CDA chief, who also holds the office of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) chief commissioner, was briefed about Sector I-14 and how it had a serious access problem as the main road was in a dilapidated condition while the contract of rehabilitation of the road is pending execution for only Rs50 million.

To provide immediate relief to the worries of the residents of Sector I-14 and I-16, the CDA chief had directed the civic body’s Finance Wing for immediate allocation of the requisite amount.

Further, he had directed that this issue should be resolved forthwith.

After the allocation of funds, rehabilitation work on the road was launched and completed.
