Excessive fare: Recovery of Rs10m from Railways ordered
Pakistan Railways had charged over Rs10 million fare unnecessarily in 2004 by charging excessive wheat carriage fare

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday ordered recovery of Rs10 million from Pakistan Railways, which the latter received by charging excessive wheat carriage fare. The PAC meeting, held here with Karamat Ullah, Speaker of the Assembly, in the chair, was informed that Pakistan Railways had charged over Rs10 million fare unnecessarily in 2004-05. PAC while expressing annoyance said clerks were always held responsible in this regard, but no action was taken against high officials.
