Three sentenced in kidnapping, murder case

KARACHI:
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) awarded the death sentence to Arsalan on Wednesday when he was proven guilty in cases of kidnapping, murder and possession of illegal weapons. Other accused were also sentenced. The case was heard before court No12 in Karachi Central Jail.

Three accused were convicted in these cases. Arsalan was sentenced to death in the murder case and seven years of imprisonment in the kidnapping case. Another accused, Ammar Asad, was convicted and awarded 21 years imprisonment while Masroor alias Mansoor was awarded six years of imprisonment.

Illegal weapons

Meanwhile, another ATC awarded 42 years imprisonment to a former Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) official in cases pertaining to possession of illegal weapons and 28 kilogrammes of explosives. Special court No10 convicted Zaheer Gul in the cases while acquitting Javed and Saleem due to lack of evidence against them.
