Bilal Ashraf channels Ranveer Singh in 'Dharak Bharak' and looks far from a 'Superstar'
Did we re-watch 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela's' song 'Tattad Tattad' that had Ranveer Singh?
KARACHI:
When Mahira Khan's Noori from the upcoming film Superstar got a grand introduction in a namesake song last week, audiences were eagerly awaiting an equally enthusiastic entry for Bilal Ashraf.
The new track, titled Dharak Bharak, features Ashraf's character Sameer Khan in a signature Rohit Shetty-inspired setting. Cue: lots of cars, lots of colour and lots of cringe-worthy dance moves.

But, that is not all: the song bares striking similarities to Ranveer Singh's Tattad Tattad from Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela as well. We see a topless Ashraf (trying to) dance atop a moving car surrounded by women. There is a six-pack, there is thrusting and there is a whole lot of winking.
Unfortunately, Dharak Bharak lacks the oomph factor and well, Ashraf is no match for the delectable Singh. Let us just say that there is a long time to go before the Janaan star and his fan base could have lived this through. Now, is just too soon.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 star Kubra Khan also makes an appearance in the song and holds her own in terms of dancing but, let us face it, both of them are not exactly Nach Baliye material.
The silver lining is that the song itself is not too bad. Superstar's music has been composed by Azaan Sami Khan and Saad Sultan. Dharak Bharak has been written by Shakeel Sohail and the vocals are lent by Shiraz Uppal and Raktima Mukherjee.

Twitter is on fire with some funny reactions, too:
Apart from the lead pair, Superstar boasts a stellar cast including the industry’s bigwigs Nadeem Baig, Jawed Sheikh, Marina Khan, Asma Abbas, Saife Hassan, Alizay Shah, Ali Kazmi and special appearances from the likes of Hania Amir, Syra Shahroz, Osman Khalid Butt and Mani. The film is set to release on Eidul Azha.
