Seven injured in transformer blast

LAHORE:
At least seven people, including a woman, were injured when a transformer exploded in Badami Bagh on Sunday morning. The victims were on their way to work when the transformer exploded.

The oil leaking from the transformer fell on to the victims causing them to receive burn injuries.

Two of the injured sustained 40% burn injuries while five received minor injuries.

Separately, a 35-year-old man was injured on Sundar Road after a gas cylinder burst. The victim, Zaheer, ran a gas cylinder shop. On the day of the incident, a cylinder exploded, damaging the roof of the shop in the powerful blast.


The victim received serious injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old worker hung himself to death in New Anarkali.

He worked in a mess at a medical college. The victim was identified as Hanif, a resident of Kot Radha Kishan.

The reason behind the step could not be ascertained. Police said that they were investigating the matter further.
