RAWALPINDI: At least seven pedestrians were injured in a shootout between two groups near Soan Bridge on Friday.

Two rival groups of the Bagga Sheikhan locality coming back from court hearing of a property dispute came face to face on Soan Bridge.

According to police, they opened fire at each other from moving cars creating panic in the area. Seven pedestrians sustained bullet wounds as feuding parties opened indiscriminate fire on each other.

However, police reached the spot and made them surrender. Rescue 1122 rushed the injured to PIMS, while police arrested the suspects for opening fire.

According to the rescue team, they shifted seven injured people from the site to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for treatment. One of the injured was discharged after first aid.
