Prominent Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PM Office in Islamabad on Friday.
The prime minister warmly welcomed the scholar and his delegation.
According to sources, PM Imran informed Maulana Jameel about his government's plans for poverty alleviation and welfare of the people.
Maulana Jameel, meanwhile, the sources added, put forward his suggestions for madrassa reforms, and enhancing the country's Islamic identity.
As part of strategy to dismantle the extremist networks, the government has decided to introduce major reforms in the curriculum of over 30,000 Islamic schools or madrassas.
