SHC extends Manzoor Wassan’s bail
NAB prosecutor argued that they have started the inquiry, therefore the bail should not be extended
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) extended the bail of the former minister, Manzoor Wassan, in the case pertaining to owning assets beyond known means of income.
A two-member bench, comprising Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi, was hearing the former minister's bail plea. The National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) prosecutor argued that they have started the inquiry, therefore the bail should not be extended. The court adjourned the hearing and extended Wassan's bail, disregarding the NAB's request.
Hearing adjourned
The same bench adjourned the hearing of a plea filed against the inclusion of Sindh home secretary Abdul Kabir Kazi's name in the Exit Control List till August 8, due to the absence of the Deputy Attorney General. The plea states that Kazi has to travel outside the country for state affairs and official tasks.
He is facing difficulties in travelling due to the inclusion of his name in the ECL, therefore, the plea should be heard soon. The interior ministry had included the name of Kazi in the ECL.
