AIOU offers short technical courses
Courses for mechanics and electricians will help youth get job opportunities: AIOU
ISLAMABAD:
Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has launched 10 technical courses to provide market-oriented job skills to youth.
According to an AIOU press release, the courses for mechanics and electricians will help youth get job opportunities, besides starting their own micro-enterprises for earning their livelihood.
The distant-learning university has offered these short courses for the Autumn 2019 semester. Interested candidates can take admissions in these programmes by September 4, said the press release. AIOU said it will charge a minimum fee for these 16-week (one semester) programmes. The skill-based programmes included motor-welding, plumber, electrician, steel fixer, civil surveyor, draftsman, refrigerator and air conditioner mechanic, computer hardware and software mechanic.
Those courses would be offered in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Kahuta, Haripur, Bohraywala and Rawalakot.
