Rumour has it the original cast will not be returning to the second installment

Entertainment Desk July 23, 2019

Yash Raj Films' hit Bunty aur Babli is apparently all set for a sequel, reported Pinkvilla. Earlier, rumour had it that the makers are planning a second installment in the franchise.

The news has now been confirmed and the reboot is reportedly in works. The upcoming project will witness a major twist in its plot. As per sources, Bunty Aur Babli's follow-up film will be set in today’s time.

The Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan-starrer, which was released 14 years ago, will be returning with a new cast. The publication confirmed Gully Boy actor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, will feature as the new Bunty.

The actor became a heartthrob amongst the youth with his electrifying performance as MC Sher in Zoya Akhtar’s latest venture. As for the lead actress, it was earlier reported that former Miss World, Manushi Chillar will be taking Rani's place in the film.

The makers are changing the script completely. Given the time leap, there are reasons to believe that Amitabh Bachchan will be missed in the sequel. This film could see many casting surprises and there is a strong buzz whether the film will have one or two Bunty's and Babli’s in it. Only time will tell but the film is definitely keeping everyone excited.
