Sukkur high court bar: Progressive Lawyers Forum wins elections
Voting started at 9 am and continued till 5 pm; results were announced at midnight.

The Progressive Lawyers Forum defeated the People’s Lawyers Forum in the annual elections of the high court bar association held in Sukkur on Saturday. The voting started at 9 am and continued till 5 pm, the results were announced at midnight.
Sindh High Court’s former judge, Farooq Pirzada, was elected president of the high court bar association. He defeated Maqbool Awan of the People’s Lawyers Forum. Similarly, Qurban Malano of the Progressive Lawyers Forum became the secretary general by defeating Noor Hassan Malik of the People’s Lawyers Forum.
Other successful office bearers of the Progressive Lawyers Forum are the vice president Abdul Qayoom Shaikh, the joint secretary Nisar Ahmed Bhambhro, the treasurer Suhail Khoso, and the library secretary Ghulam Abbas Sangi.
Practicing lawyers of the high court from Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Naushahro Feroze and Shikarpur voted. The elections were supervised by Sindh Bar Council’s Nisar Ahmed Durrani and Riazat Hussain Sahar. Advocate Hadi Bux Bhatt said that this victory was due to the untiring efforts Yasir Arafat Shar.
