Lahore High Court Justice Sheikh Ahmad Farooq conducted a surprise visit to district courts in Faisalabad on Saturday and checked the attendance of all judges and court staff.
Justice Ahmad Farooq also inspected the performance of the district courts and directed that efforts be made for the speedy provision of justice.
Later, he convened a meeting with members of District Bar Association (DBA) Faisalabad and heard proposals presented by the DBA members for the speedy disposal of criminal as well as civil cases. Justice Farooq said that judges and court officers needed to make decisions on merit without any discrimination. He said that such decisions should be made according to the law instead of favouring senior or junior lawyers. He also directed court officers to keep a vigilant eye on their subordinates and said that strict action should be taken against those found involved in any kind of corruption or negligence. Farooq directed the district and session judge and senior civil judge to convene a meeting of all judges every fortnight to review their performance.
