NA speaker hails peaceful election in tribal districts

Says new era of progress, prosperity will usher with the elections

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has said that the peaceful elections in the merged tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a victory of democracy and a proof of strong association of tribal people with democracy and peace.

“A new era of progress and prosperity will usher with the elections, which are the result of unprecedented sacrifices of the security forces,” he said.

The National Assembly speaker and Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri in a statement congratulated the people of merged districts and security institutions on holding peaceful election in the region.

“People of erstwhile Fata suffered the most in the war against terrorism, while security forces rendered great sacrifices,” Qaiser said.


“The current government has played an important role in getting people of tribal districts their rights. Special steps will be taken on priority for the development and progress of the merged districts,” he added.

Qaiser praised all the political parties that played their role in the passage of Fata reforms from the parliament.

Suri said that the election will ensure an end to deprivations of people and added that the electable will work for the betterment of their area.

He maintained that the residents of tribal districts were patriots whose immortal sacrifices for the country will always be remembered.
