Pakistan win silver in West Asian Baseball Cup
Pakistan are ranked fifth in Asia and 24th in the world in baseball

Pakistan won a silver medal after they lost to hosts Sri Lanka in the West Asian Cup 2019 final in Colombo on Saturday. Hosts Sri Lanka and Pakistan were undefeated in the tournament until the final.
India took the bronze medal in the event.
Pakistan had reached final after defeating India 13-2 in the semi-final. Six teams were competing in the West Asia Baseball Cup. The top 2 finishers qualify for the Asian Championship, to be played in China later this year.
According to the Pakistan Federation baseball assistant manager Pervez Ahmed, the morale of the team was high for the final. They lost 5-4 to Sri Lanka. Hosts outplayed them in the last innings of nine in the match.
Pakistan were dominated by Sri Lanka till the fifth inning 3-0, while they improved form in the sixth to edge closer 3-1, and by eighth inning, they were 5-3 to Sri Lanka. The match was decided in the last inning.
