MIANWALI:
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday reiterated his determination to end corruption in Pakistan, saying the process of accountability would continue without any discrimination and vowed to confiscate the properties made by the previous rulers from the looted wealth.

Addressing the various events, including the launching ceremony of Mianwali Express and the ground-breaking ceremony of the Namal hospital, in Mianwali, Khan stressed that development in Pakistan would not be possible without eliminating corruption.
the prime minister said that he would fulfil his promises of eliminating corruption from the country. “Those who have looted the country would be made accountable and the money recovered from them would be spent on public welfare,” he said.

“The government has already started action against Benami properties and will also bring back the looted money from abroad,” Prime Minister Khan told the Mianwali Express inauguration ceremony. However, he added that this process might take some time.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of the Namal hospital, Khan said the looters of the public money would be held accountable at every cost and the government had given full authority to the institutions to proceed with the accountability process without any pressure.

“This time, the powerful will come under the claw of accountability, who have inflicted immense damage to the country during their tenures," he said. “Regardless of any opposition, the accountability process will proceed unhindered,” he added.

"I have been waiting for this moment since 22 years [of my political struggle] to bring to book those who plundered public money. The culprits are raising hue and cry over accountability, calling it a 'political revenge and a threat to democracy' but In fact, they want to hide their corruption.”

The prime minister stressed that the people were well aware of the political gimmicks of those politicians. By ending corruption, the prime minister said, he wanted to restore the confidence of international investors in Pakistan.

He said several overseas Pakistani entrepreneurs were willing to invest in Pakistan, but had been hesitant because of the corruption. He expressed the confidence that Pakistan would achieve the status of a strong and prosperous country.

“The government of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has started taking tough measures in the best national interest. It's my promise to the nation that I will get this country on the trajectory of development," he said.

Khan invited the private sector to step forward in adopting the major hospitals and join the government's journey of bringing improvement in health sector. "Under the adopt-a-hospital project, we can bring a significant change in health sector through public-private partnership."

At the railways ceremony, he thanked Railways Minister Shiekh Rashid for launching another train for the people of Mianwali on his directive. He said the facilitation of the common man was the only focus of the government.
