KARACHI:
Clown thriller IT is set to scare us all once again in an upcoming sequel to the hit horror film reboot from 2017.

The trailer for IT Chapter 2 was revealed at the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con 2019 yesterday. It begins on a rather scary note so let us warn you, this film is not for the weak-hearted.

The new trailer reveals that the Losers' Club is back. This group of children haunted but the frightful Pennywise is all grown up now and their lives have changed tremendously.

Set 27 years after the first film, most members of the club have forgotten the existence of the clown and the creepy events that took place during their teenage years in Derry, Maine. "Something happens to you when you leave this town," Mike says. However, since he is the only one who never left the neighbourhood, he remembers those experiences like it was yesterday.

Mike informs his friends that while they managed to defeat Pennywise in the past, the shape-shifting clown isn't gone just yet. The trailer teases the horrifying events that awaits the Losers' Club once again.

'Annabelle Comes Home' review: Some good scares but zero innovation

We see a grimy sewer and hear that eerie music that reminds us the gruesome clown is nearby. Sure enough, his yellow eyes glow in the dark with his long sharp finger extended and we know this is not going to end well.

The Loser's reunite as adults and remind each other of the oath they once made. "If it isn't dead, if it ever comes back, we will come back too," one of them says in the trailer, with flashbacks to their younger selves in the 2017 IT film.

But the freakiest part is when the scene cuts to a theme park, where glow in the dark toy clowns can be seen swinging and Mike is frantic. Evil laughs are heard. A mirror maze is shown and a child is stuck, with Pennywise ready to pounce.

There is blood is everywhere. Children are drowning. The Losers are screaming. Pennywise is there, jumping on walls with his tongue sticking out and playing on our biggest insecurities and fears. Will we finally see the end of Pennywise?
