Murree to get trauma centre
Hospital in dire need of a chest surgery unit
RAWALPINDI:
A trauma center will be built inside Samli Sanatorium Hospital in Murree instead of constructing a separate building, said Rawalpindi Commissioner Saqib Zafar. He said the measure was taken to provide the public with all health facilities under a roof. Addressing a meeting, regarding health facilities in Murree, he directed that undergoing projects in the hospital should be completed soon to facilitate patients coming from remote areas. The commissioner was informed that the hospital was in dire need of a chest surgery unit due to a large number of chest pain patients in the adjoining areas. He was also given a briefing regarding shortage of medical staff, lack of living facilities for government employees etc. At this, Saqib Zafar assured that all related actions would be implemented in order to establish a chest surgery unit. Commissioner Zafar issued directives for improving facilitis for tourists in Murree, improving traffic management and implementing building control laws.
