Property transfers on hold
New fiscal year was filled with errors and it was re-sent for correction
RAWALPINDI:
Property dealings in the district have frozen as an upgraded list of property tax rates has still not been delivered by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office to the registrar office Due to this reason, there have been no new property registrations since July 1. The list which was issued on the beginning of the new fiscal year was filled with errors and it was re-sent for correction. However, the registrar’s office is still awaiting the error-free list. The sources in the DC’s office said that the new list has been uploaded on the website. However, the hard copies would be supplied to the registrar’s office today. In this regard, the Stamp Seller Union President Malik Waheed Awaan confirmed that new lists have not been delivered so far. He said, property registration had halted due to the unavailability of lists and added that property rates were increased by 15 to 20 percent in upgraded lists.
