Five more held in youth festival corruption case

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore arrested five more accused, including two deputy directors of Sports Board in Punjab Youth Festival corruption case.
Fake representative of Gunnies Book of World Record Syed Waseem is also among the arrested accused. Other accused were identified as deputy director and member procurement committee Tariq Maqsood, deputy director, member finance Wilayat Shah, contactor Ehsanul Haque and Muhammad Imran.
The accused in connivance with each other committed corruption of at least Rs270 million in youth festivals held during 2013 and 2014.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif skipped an appearance before NAB in Lahore Waste Management Company Case (LWMC). NAB investigations team kept on waiting for him till the end of office time but he did not show up. The bureau was investigating the allegations of embezzlements of billions of rupees committed in the working of the company from procurement, contract awarding, hiring of services to the instruments. General Manager of the company Tahir Maqbool had already been arrested by NAB.
