LAHORE:
The Sikh community has invited Prime Minister Imran Khan to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak. The invitation was extended by the apex body of Sikhs, responsible for the management of historic Gurdwaras worldwide. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar are also invited.

“Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar wishes to have your personal presence, when this 100-day-long procession commences,” the invite said. The celebrations will commence at Nankana Sahib from July 25.

Strained relations between Pakistan and India have made it difficult for Sikh pilgrims to take part in religious activities. The Kartarpur corridor, which will allow the Sikh pilgrims to exercise their religious obligations, is seen as a “path-way” for better relations between the two countries.
