First visit of a WEF president to Pakistan after almost 20 years

World Economic Forum President Borge Brende is arriving on Thursday July 11 for a one-day visit to Islamabad to meet Prime Minister lmran Khan and other members of the government. Among those he is meeting are Nadeem Babar, Adviser on Petroleum to the Prime Minister, Abdul Razzak Dawood, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Malik Amin Aslam, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, Minister of Education Shafqat Mahmood, as well as Sohail Mahmood, Foreign Secretary. This is the first visit of a WEF president to Pakistan after almost 20 years. Pathfinder Group Chairman Ikram Sehgal, a founder member of WEF, together with Martin Dow Group Chairman Ali Akhai will host a lunch at the Serena Hotel in honour of Brende. For the past 17 years Pathfinder and Martin Dow have hosted Pakistan Breakfast during the WEF at Davos, where chief guest from Pakistan is available for a question and nnswer session with international leaders and media people.
