734 detained for violating rental laws
Police seizes around Rs7 million, 23 stolen cars, 130 motorcycles, 42 mobile phones from suspects
RAWALPINDI:
During six months of current year, Rawalpindi police have detained 734 suspects in 385 different cases on violation of Tenancy Act year under the National Action Plan (NAP).
It further arrested eight suspects in 25 different cases of wall chalking and 52 on violating sound system ordinance. Other 3 were arrested for promulgating religious hatred.
The police also booked 313 suspects belonging to 89 inter-district and inter-provincial gangs who were involved in various criminal activities. The police seized a sum of around Rs7 million, 23 stolen cars, 130 motorcycles, 42 mobile phones, 2 cattle, 80 gas cylinders and the weapons used in crimes from the suspects.
During the period, the police collectively arrested 1719 wanted criminals including 229 listed in category A, comprising most wanted criminals and other 1,490 listed category B.
