LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is all set to introduce a new mobile application (app) for complaint registration and resolution, said LDA Director General Muhammad Usman Moazam.

He was talking to representatives of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) led by PITB Director General e-Governance Sajjad Latif on Wednesday.

He highlighted that with the launch of a new mobile app, citizens can register their complaint with ease. “Modern technology is necessary to improve service delivery and the complaint resolution process.”

He added that the authority is taking innovative measures to improve its functioning. “This new mobile app will also be used to record citizen feedback.”

LDA DG told The Express Tribune that computerisation of property data in LDA housing societies is underway. “A new smart monitoring system is being developed to evaluate the performance of LDA field staff. The authority is also digitising ownership and commercialisation data of private housing societies. This date is being mapped on geographic information system.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the authority said that as per direction of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, LDA has initiated the process to give plots to 9,000 file-holders. He added that the LDA DG will also visit site office of LDA City in Mouza Kahna Ferozwala on Thursday (today).

He further said that the authority has also cancelled allotment of 44 LDA officials which were given allotment on government housing schemes in violation of rules and regulations. The decision was made in light of the apex court decision in a human rights case.
