Teacher rapes student in India
Survivor is seven months pregnant after being raped
A teacher working at a government school in India was accused on Wednesday of raping a grade 11 girl repeatedly in the classroom, reported Hindustan Times.
The teacher had allegedly been sexually assaulting her for a period of eight months. The girl had not informed anyone about the situation because the accused had threatened her with “dire consequences”.
On Monday she developed pain in her abdomen and was taken to a local hospital. She was then told that she was seven months pregnant.
The family filed a complaint against the teacher and the girl said that the accused had first raped her eight months ago, with the excuse of keeping her back for an extra class.
The police in the district reported that the accused has been booked under Section 6 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act and he will be arrested soon.
