Two drown near Mubarak Village

KARACHI: Two people, including a twelve-year-old girl, drowned in the sea on Tuesday while bathing at Bhit Khori near Mubarak Village. The bodies have been recovered and sent to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Shehzad, son of Sajjad, and 12-year-old Mehak, daughter of Parvez. The victims were residents of Orangi Town.

Suicide? Recover body of drowned woman

A relative of the deceased girl told The Express Tribune that Shehzad was the owner of an embroidery workshop and Mehak's mother worked there.

He said that the employees of the workshop had planned to go on a picnic and all the women and the other employees went to Mubarak Village on Tuesday morning. At lunchtime, Mehak drowned in the sea. Shehzad jumped in to save her but he was unsuccessful and drowned as well.

Two girls drown in Tarbela Lake 

Mauripur Police SHO Chaudhry Zahid told The Express Tribune that the deceased died from drowning. He said that the police had sealed all roads to Bhit Khori but these picnickers parked their bus near Mubarak Village and walked through hills to Bhit Khori. Some people had drowned earlier at the same spot following which the roads to Bhit Khori were sealed, he added.
