LAHORE: National Accountability Lahore Director General Saleem Shahzad chaired a meeting to review the slow pace of work on LDA City.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to supervise the completion of this project.

It was stated by NAB that the process of land acquisition was moving at a snail’s pace. At least 9,000 people have purchased files in LDA City. The authorities had to purchase 13,000 of kanals for phase-I and had been issued a deadline of September 22 to acquire 4,500 of those kanals. However, only 1,600 kanals could be purchased till date due to the negligence of LDA, said NAB. The DG ordered authorities to submit a report after every two weeks and asked them to also expedite development work.

Meanwhile, former minister Rana Mashood appeared before NAB in the Punjab Youth Festival scam. He remained with team for over an hour to answer their queries.
