IHC releases six-month report

ISLAMABAD: According to the six months performance report sent by Islamabad High Court (IHC), the IHC’s single and division benches have solved 4,745 cases. In the performance report, there are separate reports for single bench and division bench: four single benches decided 3,796 cases while two division benches decided 949 cases.

In a separate report of all four single benches, Justice Athar Minallah in a single bench solved the most cases: 1,176, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani stands second with 1,093 cases while Justice Amir Farooq has decided 933 cases. Single bench justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurungzeb has decided the least number of cases which is 594. In the other report, the division bench Justice Athar Minallah and Mian Gul Hasan Aurungzeb have made decisions in 455 cases while Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani have solved 469 cases. Up to 21 cases were solved in other division benches while four were solved in the larger bench.

IHC affirms UCs role in development projects

In six months, the IHC has decided the bail for 150 National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases, cases pertaining to the issuance of production orders of ex-president Asif Zardari, ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, ex-chief minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Faryal Talpur, Khwaja Saad Rafiq and other NAB suspects.

Moreover, the case pertaining to Indian pilot Abhi Nandan turning back, case of bad performance of Pakistani cricket team in the world cup and other important cases have also been decided by IHC.
