Motorway project to be completed this year

DC Dr Syed Bilal Haider says the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway project will cost Rs43.85 billion

SIALKOT:
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Syed Bilal Haider said on Friday that the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway project will be completed in  2019.  He added that an amount of Rs43.85 billion will be spent on the project of the 91.2-km long motorway which will reduce travelling time between Sialkot and Lahore.  He added that it will be a four-lane motorway with seven interchanges in areas including Gujranwala, Daska and Sambrial. Earlier, a meeting of officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) was held to review construction of the motorway project.


The NHA and FWO officials briefed the meeting that construction work on Sialkot-Lahore Motorway's four different sections namely the 21-Km long Kala Shah Kaku to Muridke Section, 25-km long Muridke-Narowal Section, 20-km long Narowal-Pasrur Section and the 20-km long Pasrur-Sambrial Section is briskly underway.
