The Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) has started screening and vaccinating its sanitation staff against various fatal diseases.
Teams from an experienced health firm, hired under rules and regulations, are screening staff and conducting tests.
The sanitation company has allocated Rs20 million to protect sanitation staff from contracting hepatitis and other diseases.
In the first phase, sanitation staff from Zone-D is being screened. They will be followed by staff in Zone-C, A and B. After screening, proper treatment of staff — who are diagnosed with diseases — will commence.
WSSP Chief Executive Officer Syed Zafar Ali Shah said that the health of their employees was among the top priorities of the company.
He directed zonal managers of zones to ensure screening of vaccination of each and every sanitation staffer in their zones.
