LAHORE:
The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has devised a comprehensive plan to deal with the upcoming monsoon season and has dedicated special resources to tackle any eventuality.

Under this strategy, LWMC workers deputed at designated points will remove waste. Further, Turkish contractors will ensure deployment of all resources.

An official for the waste company stated that an emergency control room has been established at the LWMC head office and will remain functional round-the-clock for close coordination with field staff.  Weather alerts, in coordination with the regional meteorological department, will be disseminated through the control room. LWMC will support and facilitate WASA during the monsoon season and will depute staff at WASA’s control room for smooth execution of tasks.

LWMC MD Khalid Nazir directed officials to remain in field and act according to the plan. LWMC Manager Operations Sohail Anwar Malik stated that as many as 792 additional workers have been deputed at 88 designated points.
