HYDERABAD:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) has put the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Response Centre for Cyber Crime and other respondents on notice for July 18 in a petition concerning the suicide of a woman due to harassment and blackmailing.

The petitioner, Dr Lachman Das, the father of the deceased, 31-years-old Aneela Meghwadh, who took her life on May 18 in Tando Muhammad Khan district, complained of a weak ongoing probe and FIR.

The woman left a letter accusing Somchand Meghwadh, Mahesh Meghwadh and Ashok Meghwadh of blackmailing her for money while warning that her objectionable videos and photographs would be shared on social media. The counsel, advocate Ali Palh, prayed the court to order Sindh home secretary to constitute a joint investigation team for the probe and to order Badin district police to insert the relevant sections in the FIR to make the case stronger.
