CDA chief orders cross verification of employees’ degrees

HRD directorate told to present report in two days

ISLAMABAD: The matter of pending inquiries and degree verification process in the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is approaching a logical conclusion.

The CDA chairman has instructed the Human Resources Department (HRD) Directorate to present reports of the inquiries within two days so that action in light of the reports could be taken.

Meanwhile, Degree Verification Cell has been directed to complete cross verification of the degrees within a month.

The CDA chairman has passed these directions while reviewing the progress on degree verification and pending inquiries.

The meeting was attended by the officers concerned of the authority.

The CDA Chairman was apprised that presently, 201 inquiries are being conducted out of which 142 are fact finding and 59 are formal inquiries.

He was briefed that 76 reports in this regard have been received thus far, which include 55 fact finding and 21 formal inquiries.

While showing displeasure, he directed the HRD Directorate to issue a final reminder to officers to conclude the inquiries within a month.

The CDA chairman was briefed that 20 percent work of degree cross verification has been completed, he was informed that out of 846 employees, degrees 169 were forwarded to Higher Education Commission (HEC) for cross verification out of which 119 have been received back while the remaining are in process.

The CDA chairman also showed his anger over the slow progress in the matter and directed that the cross verification process be completed within a month’s time.

The CDA chairman directed the HRD Directorate to issue a final reminder to the directors of the formations to verify the degrees and educational certificates of unofficial employees working under their administrative control.

The verification would be done by concerned issuing department through Security Directorate. In case of failure the director’s inefficiency will be officially recorded in their annual confidential report.
