NAB issued notice over Jakhrani's inclusion in ECL
A two-member bench comprising Justice Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi heard the petition
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices on Monday to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and other related parties over a petition challenging the inclusion of former federal minister and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Aijaz Ali Jakhrani in the Exit Control List (ECL).
A two-member bench comprising Justice Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi heard the petition. Jhakrani's counsel maintained that based on political enmity and ill intention, his client's name was put in the ECL. According to the Supreme Court (SC), a name cannot be added in the ECL based on an inquiry.
The counsel sought removal of his client's name from the ECL. The court issuing notice to NAB authorities and several other parties sought responses by July 9.
