Fire destroys WHO building, medicines
Medicines and chemicals in the underground store exacerbated the situation.
ISLAMABAD:
A fire broke out in the basement of the World Health Organisation (WHO) building located in sector I-9/3, wasting medicines worth millions of rupees and causing damage to the building, Express News reported Friday.
The reason for the fire breakout is still unknown, however, the medicines and chemicals kept in the underground store exacerbated the situation further flaring up the fire.
Rescue teams reached the scene to put off the fire, but have been unable to do so from the last five hours. There have been no reports of casualties.
