Court indicts Rawat gang rape suspects
SHO produced forensic and DNA reports in the court
RAWALPINDI:
A trial court of Saturday indicted the four suspects of Rawat gang rape case, while they refused the charges.
Rawat police station SHO produced the forensic and DNA reports in the court which were initially not included in the charge-sheet.
District and Sessions Judge Masood Waraich reserved the verdict and adjourned the case until June 6.
The victim again maintained that the suspects were not her assailants nor had she nominated them. She accused that they were implicated in the case at behest of high police officials and to protect the real culprits.
She asserted that the forensic and DNA tests proved the same. The victim said that she did not want any action against any innocent and expressed that she would not raise any objection even if the court released them.
The defence counsel repeated that the case was purely based on revenge and falsification and pleaded the court to release his clients.
A DNA test has cleared four men, including three Rawalpindi police officers, who were implicated in allegedly kidnapping and raping a teenaged student within the remits of the Rawat police last month.
