LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to fully utilise the development budget allocated for the financial year 2019-20. It said that funds for development schemes would be released from day one.

The finance secretary and planning and development board chairman will be responsible for implementing the new policy.

Sources said that after orders from Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar, government departments have been issued strict directions and guidelines about the release and use of allocated funds.

Orders have been given to government officers to prepare reports for development schemes which are already under way. He said that these projects will start during the coming financial year.

Directives have been given to send the cases immediately to the finance department and PND during the first three months – from July till September 2019 – for approval.
