Over 1.75m registered in health drive
Special campaign launched to bridge gaps in low-performing areas

Significant progress has been made in the District Health Registration Campaign aimed at providing doorstep medical care and health guidance to citizens in Rawalpindi, with over 1.756 million people registered so far.
The campaign targets the registration of 2.7 million residents.
According to sources, under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's health initiative, the campaign has achieved 61.6 per cent of its target across the district. Kahuta and Murree have shown outstanding performance, reaching nearly 90 per cent registration, while urban areas of Rawal Town and the cantonment are lagging behind with less than 27 per cent registration, posing a challenge for authorities.
To address the gap, an eight-day special campaign from April 12 to 19 has been launched. Additional staff have been deployed in low-performing areas with emphasis on door-to-door data collection.
Under the Community Health Inspectors Programme, families are being registered to provide complete medical check-ups and guidance on disease treatment. Out of the targeted 2.7 million population, over 1.756 million have already been registered.
The initiative has been termed a highly important healthcare programme, aimed at promoting healthy living through medical screening and proper treatment guidance.
In Rawalpindi district, with a total population of six million, health and demographic profiles of 2.7 million residents are being prepared, and efforts are being accelerated to complete the process.
Currently, 1,135 lady health workers, 340 community health inspectors, and 22 health workers from the Population Welfare Departmentnow merged into the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Departmentare conducting door-to-door visits.
The recruitment process for an additional 800 community health inspectors is underway.
