Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Mrunal Thakur are currently gearing up for their upcoming film Super 30. But controversy has surrounded the dusky skin tone of Hrithik's character ever since the first looks of the film were shared on social media recently.
Many have been asking why the lead actor is ‘brownfaced’ during shot of the trailer. Anand Kumar, the man who started the Super 30 programme in real life, recently opened up about the reason behind it.

Anand stated that when a person works in the heat, in a room made of tin shed, the skin tone gets darker. He had also shared that the makers took inspiration from his videos and tried to replicate the look, reported Pinkvilla.
I'm not a pearlescent white-skinned girl; I'm dusky and bronze: Mushk Kaleem
Actor Mrunal Thakur who will be seen playing Hrithik’s on-screen wife has shared her opinion about the actor’s skin tone in the film, saying, “I think it was required for the character. Whenever I saw Hrithik in his dark complexion, I would end up calling him Anand and not Hrithik.

The Bollywood actor asserted that once people see the film, they will understand why Hrithik's skin tone was necessary. "In Love Sonia, they (the makers) made me three or four shades darker, and it worked.”
Super 30 is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and how he began his educational program Super 30. In the year 2002, Anand co-founded the educational program which selects 30 talented students from economically underprivileged sections of the society and trains them for the entrance exam of IIT.
