Bench sends Fahad Malik case to IHC CJ
The court sent the case to the Chief Justice Ather Minallah after completion of arguments from both parties
ISLAMABAD:
Two member divisional bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) have sent the Barister Fahad Malik murder case to the IHC Chief Justice Ather Minallah after objection on the bench. During the hearing, the suspect’s counsel raised objection on Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and said that he had served as a lawyer to the opponent in past. The opponent’s counsel, Maliha Malik, replied that the related case was very old. The court sent the case to the Chief Justice Ather Minallah after completion of arguments from both parties. Barrister Fahad Malik was shot dead outside Shalimar police station in early hours of August 15, 2016. He had come to precinct to act as mediator in a quarrel between Raja Arshad and Malik Tariq groups who had clashed in a coffee shop. However, after a compromise was signed in the police staion and everybody was leaving for home, Raja Arshad group opened fire on the vehicles of Malik Tariq group with automatic weapons. Fahad Malik sustained fatal gunshot wounds and died.
