NBP corruption case referred to banking court
The case against the former head of NBP was registered in 2017 by the excise department
KARACHI:
A model court directed that the case pertaining to embezzlement of Rs830 million in the funds of the excise department be forwarded to a banking court on Wednesday.
South judicial magistrate Andal Shah heard the case against the former head of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Mohsin Furqan. The excise department submitted a report before the court which stated that the head of NBP committed a fraud of Rs830 million in excise department. A total of Rs294.5 million are missing.
South judicial magistrate remarked that this case falls under the banking court.
